This beautiful old house was built in two sections, the oldest original portion dates back to the late 1700’s and the larger most modern section was built around 1820. The house was built for a family of quakers who traveled too Pennsylvania from Ireland hoping to practice there religion in peace in the new world. Since William Penn was a friend to George Fox the founder of the Quaker movement, Pennsylvania became a safe haven for Quakers traveling from all over. One famous Quaker from Pennsylvania comes to mind of Daniel Boone, the famous frontiersman. The house would remain in use as a dairy farm until the mid 1960’s when a new highway off ramp was put in, eminent domain claimed much of the existing farm land around. Such a fascinating old house, glad I could document this old place hopefully it can be saved and preserved for future generations. Thanks for watching.
