Second Flatiron “Freeway” is a popular entry-level climbing or scrambling slab route with about 600’ vertical gain. It’s rated as YDS 5.0 or 4+ on different websites. Most people climb it without rope, and descend via 1st/2nd Flatiron Trail. I got off work early on a weekday afternoon in mid November 2025, and decided to give this route a try.
