Apparently this method from Kamek is a remedy to prevent Bowser from slouching like he does in most appearances back in the 2000s. This may have also helped his slouching issue for Smash Bros. Kamek is a great father figure, but can still be intimidating the to the king of all koopas as well.
Also I did this nasally and scratchy voice before noticing enough of the Peter Lorre-esque voice that Kevin Michael Richardson gave him.
