Baby boomers in Montreal were fortunate to have eaten their lunch in front of the television with Johnny Jellybean.
The show was produced at CFCF-TV in Montreal in the 1960s. Very few clips from the show exist. Ted explains why in this interview.
Ziegler subsequently went on to Hollywood, where he was a writer for several prime time comedy shows.
It was fun coming full circle from drinking my milk with him to meeting him, and working with the production guys who, among others, played Morrie the Mailman. (Someone would toss dozens of letters through a window onto the set).
Local television has lived in the hearts of people for decades. This show was a great example of how to do a lot with nothing.
The source video was of poor quality. I did my best to correct the colour. Ziegler died of pneumonia in 1999 at the age of 73.
