The first ever First Nations Junior Leadership Camp was held in Narrabeen, Sydney, last week with 42 First Nations boys and girls aged 12-13 attending.
These players were selected to attend the program, which included skill development, resilience training and road safety messaging thanks to Transport for NSW, a proud supporter of the program.
Star Sydney Swan, Aliesha Newman (front row, main image), attended two of the three days, helping players improve their skills and footy development on the first day and then returning on the second day to take the players through a painting session, where she assisted the participants paint Aboriginal designs on bicycle helmets to connect them to culture and remind them of safe cycling, skateboarding or scootering.
