Ishizuka Ryokan Kunimi onsen — изумрудно-зеленые горячие источники и красивое деревенское здание

岩手県雫石町 国見温泉 石塚旅館を訪問してきました。

日本秘湯を守る会の会員宿として、国内で最も有名なエメラルドグリーンの湯を持つ当館。赤を基調とした建物はとても印象深く、訪問したい宿リストの上位だった湯宿です。今回の旅行で宿泊候補として検討していましたが、今年の営業再開時に判明した雪害により旅館営業を取りやめることをBlogで発表されたため来年以降に訪れようと考えていました。

その後被害が大きいことが判明し、最終的に本館の解体を発表。そこで解体前の名建築姿を映像に収めるべく訪問してきました。

そのため本動画は宿泊動画ではないこと、ご了承頂ければと思います。

国見温泉の湯元でもある石塚旅館。宿の創業は1804年、220年以上の歴史を持つ宿でもあります。60年前以上前に建てられたロッジ風の本館は他に類を見ない赤を基調とした鮮やかな色に魅了されます。老朽化は否めませんが、豪雪地帯のこちらで60年以上にわたり冬季休業をはさみながら営業を続けてきたことに驚かされます。

温泉はため息が漏れるほど鮮やかなエメラルドグリーン。江戸時代から緑の薬湯として親しまれてきた湯はアブラ臭と硫黄臭が混ざり温泉ファンにはたまらない極上湯。その見た目には本当に驚かされました。当日の天気は斑模様の雲り空で太陽光も限られておりましたが、陽の光があたると更に鮮やかに輝くのでしょう。小浴場、露天風呂、そして薬師の湯。それぞれの色も若干異なって見え高原の空気と共に気持ちの良い湯浴み時間を過ごさせて頂きました。

宿の方にお話を伺ったところ、本館解体後は日帰り温泉になる予定とのこと。厨房スペースの確保など課題が多く現状旅館営業の計画はないそうです。歴史ある旅館の営業をやめ日帰り湯とする決断は大きなものだったと思います。しかしながら国内有数の名湯を存続するその思いに共感し、今後も応援していきたいと思います。

解体前に訪れることができ本当に良かったです。お話を伺った女将さん、お宿の方にも御礼申し上げます。そしていつかまた旅館営業を再開する日が来ること、勝手に期待したいと思います。

I visited Ishizuka Ryokan in Kunimi Onsen, Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture.

As a member of the Japan Society for the Preservation of Hidden Hot Springs, our inn boasts some of the most famous emerald-green hot springs in Japan. The striking red-themed building made it a top spot on my wishlist. I had considered staying at this inn for my recent trip, but after snow damage discovered upon reopening this year, they announced on their blog that they would be ceasing operations, so I decided to postpone my visit until next year.

The damage was later determined to be extensive, and they ultimately announced the demolition of the main building. So I visited to capture the magnificent building in its pre-demolition state.

Ishizuka Ryokan is the source of Kunimi Onsen's hot springs. Founded in 1804, the inn boasts over 220 years of history. The lodge-style main building, built over 60 years ago, is captivating with its unique, vibrant red color scheme. While its age is undeniable, it's amazing that it has managed to remain in business for over 60 years, even with a winter closure, in this snowy region.

The hot spring's vibrant emerald green color is breathtaking. Since the Edo period, the water has been popular as a green medicinal bath, and its oily and sulfurous smells make it an exquisite bath irresistible for hot spring enthusiasts. I was truly astonished by its appearance. The weather on the day was patchy with clouds, limiting sunlight, but I imagine it would shine even more vividly in the sunlight. The small bath, open-air bath, and Yakushi no Yu bath all had slightly different colors, and I enjoyed a pleasant time bathing in the highland air.

When I spoke to the innkeeper, I learned that once the main building is demolished, the facility will become a day-use hot spring. There are many challenges, such as securing kitchen space, and there are currently no plans to operate as a ryokan. The decision to close the historic ryokan and focus on day-use bathing was a big one. However, I sympathize with their desire to preserve one of Japan's most renowned hot springs, and I will continue to support them in the future.

I'm really glad I was able to visit before the demolition. I'd like to thank the landlady and the innkeeper who spoke to me. I hope that one day the inn will reopen for business.
