소금결정은 정육면체 일까?
모루를 이용하여 소금결정을 만들어보자.
먼저 모루를 별모양으로 만든 후 클립을 연결하여
꼬지에 걸친 후 유리병에 걸쳐서 높이를 맞춘다.
뜨거운 물에 소금이 녹지 않고 병 아래에 쌓일때 까지 많이 녹여 포화용액을 만든다.
모루를 소금물이 있는 병속에 넣고 1,2일을 기다려 보자.
육면체모양의 소금결정이 만들어 진다.
다시 뜨거운 물에 소금을 더 녹인후
결정이 붙은 모루를 넣어 보자.
더 많은 소금결정이 만들어진다.

과학원리
결정이란 화학물질이 굳어 고체가 된것이다.원자나 분자가 반복되어 배열되어 표면에 다양한 기하학적 구조를 나타낸다. 소금은 결정형 물질로 염소와 나트륨이 화홥물이 될때 정육면체 모양의 결정을 만든다.
