After 17 years the SF1 and SF2 correction will be discontinuing. End of life is coming. It discontinuing on 1 February 2021. The John Deere Starfire ITC GPS Receiver was launched in 2004.
Without StarFire correction signal SF1/SF2 it is no longer possible to run AutoTrac.
The ITC receiver will continue receiving the WAAS (Free Signal Provided by Government) signal. Therefore you will continue to be able to use the ITC for non autotrac applications, such as
mapping, section control, documentation or parallel tracking.
This was not a decision made by John Deere or INMARSET (the company that provides the bandwidth for our SF1 and SF2 correction signals. The change is happening because of a government satellite update where new satellites broadcasting the L5 signal are replacing the older signals. The hardware inside an ITC receiver will not allow it to receive the newer data.
At the moment there are 2 StarFire generations further that is the Starfire 3000 and Starfire 6000 receiver.
