Shy and reserved, Claire Decker, a 30-something part-time investigator for Social Services, is used to handling quiet cases—helping determine the estates of elderly people who die alone. But when a brutal, unsolved murder rocks her small town, Claire is reluctantly pulled into a dark and puzzling mystery.
