In this video, I’ll be recreating my IELTS Speaking test experience from June 2023, where I achieved a Band 8.5 score! Join me as I walk you through the entire process of the test, including the questions I was asked and my responses, all based on my memory. This is a unique opportunity to see how I navigated the test and what you can expect if you’re preparing for your own IELTS journey.

The test was conducted by the British Council in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and my examiner was Stephen C. I carefully noted down the questions as soon as I returned home and have prepared this video to provide an approximation of my experience.

What You’ll Learn:

Part 1: I’ll introduce myself and answer questions about my background, where I’m from, my job as a senior project coordinator in an IT company, and what I enjoy most about my work. I’ll also discuss how I spend time with my friends and reflect on the challenges of balancing a busy career with social life.

Part 2: I’ll delve into a job that I find particularly interesting: my past role as a copy editor for The Daily Star. You’ll learn about the responsibilities involved in editing and proofreading news reports, the skills required for the job, and what made it so captivating for me. I’ll also touch on how I got into this role right after finishing my bachelor’s degree and the valuable experience I gained.

Part 3: We’ll engage in deeper discussions about career paths. I’ll share my thoughts on when people typically decide on their careers, the importance of career guidance in schools, especially in rural areas, and the evolving landscape of the job sector due to advancements in technology. I’ll also reflect on how information technology is changing working conditions for the better.
