"Dr. Rosemarie Garland-Thomson is Professor of Women's Studies at Emory University. She is the author of several books including Extraordinary Bodies: Figuring Physical Disability in American Culture and Literature (Columbia University Press 1997), Presenting Disability: Activism and Agency in the Museum (Routledge 2010), and most recently, Staring: How We Look (Oxford University Press 2011) which draws on examples from art, media, fashion, history and memoir to explore how staring operates in daily life. She teaches courses in feminist theory, American literature, and disability studies."
