Is this really Thai food in Vietnam? 🇹🇭🇻🇳

In this video I link up with Chad Kubanoff, my favourite Vietnam-based YouTuber, to see if you can actually get decent Thai food in Saigon.

We start in District 7 with a bowl of bún Thái, a Vietnamese fusion noodle soup loosely inspired by Thai tom yum. It’s got a spicy and sour broth, seafood, veggies and usually some instant noodles thrown in for good measure. Definitely not something you’d find on the streets of Bangkok, but interesting to try.

Next we head to District 4 to check out some ‘authentic’ boat noodles and guay teow tom yum. The boat noodles didn’t quite hit the spot for me, but the tom yum noodles were close enough to the real thing that if I was living in Saigon long term, I’d be happy enough knowing I could still get a little taste of home.
