At some time in our lives we all deal with death – the death of a parent, or of a dear friend. Whomever is taken from us, be they young or old, we are left with the necessity to understand. We all ask why – why was she taken – why is he not here to share my life – why am I alone – why? – and there is never an answer. It is up to us then to search for a way to fit death into life, to find the interlocking moment when the two may meet, in kind and in compassion. THE LAST GESTURE offers a musical solution to this primal dilemma. The words and music strive to connect us to our time line – in both a metaphysical and a tactile way.
