Concept Prologue Prompt:

Harry didn’t have much time left.

He knew it, Draco knew it.

Harry just didn’t care, he’d told Draco as much when they’d fought over using the Time-Turner to fix this.

He’d do it again, he’d yelled, not at all remorseful for stepping foolhardy into the direct line of a curse aimed for Draco’s back.

He’d taken it straight to the chest, a defiant smirk painted over a bone deep sting.

The wizard who’d cast the spell disapparated quickly, writhing under a well aimed curse from Draco.

He hoped they wouldn’t survive the trip.

He considered making sure.

But Draco had been furious, practically fuming as he manhandled Harry through the doors of St. Mungo’s instead.

Afterwards, though, he’d been devastated.

Harry was selfish, especially when it came to Draco.

He’d accepted that fact the night the git showed up on his doorstep, beaten to a bloody pulp.

So he’d take every hit, every curse, every misplaced reparation conjured by survivors with festering war wounds.

Because he wouldn’t survive losing Draco.

So if they had to lose one another anyways, Harry was going to make damn sure Draco went last.

Draco, on the other hand, could not fathom a worse fate.

So he takes it back, erases every memory they’ve created, every minute they’ve given one another.

Goes right back to square one.

Because, the savior of the wizarding world deserves so much more than dying too young for the likes of an Ex-Death Eater.
