FTR Hare Scramble #10 - Punta Gorda 04/13/2025 - Master C (second place).

Last race of the season and I finished in a good way, although there was a misunderstanding at the start, the Woman B class which is on the same row as us usually start 30 secondes ahead of us, but for some reason today and with no notice whatsoever the referee in charge of the starts told us to all go together, so racers who were farther down the lane did not hear that command so they were still waiting at their bike when about half the guys including me started with the women, the time they realized they had to go with us, we were already at the first turn. All in all, I don’t think that mattered much for the outcome of the race as George, who started late on that second group, won the race. They may have lost 10 to 15 secondes I guess. So because of that incident I got the holeshot and was ahead of the race for most of the first lap, George caught up with me in the traffic and passed me at 28min30sec and I couldn’t keep up with him, he was just too fast, congrats George! My second lap was over a minute faster than my first lap but still it was not enough. I’m still very happy with second place and it’s a great way to finish the season. I really like this race, I usually do well in sand, and there was plenty. See you guys in September for a new season, maybe I’ll see some of you at the next enduro, cheers,
