The four-square cipher was invented by Félix-Marie Delastelle and published in 1902. It uses four Polybius squares. In this video, we first explain how the cipher works, its keyspace size, and unicity distance. Then, we show how to use the four-square cipher component of CrypTool 2 to encrypt and decrypt texts.
