平成27年 豊島区指定無形民俗文化財
御会式は、日蓮宗の祖日蓮聖人を供養する宗教行事。雑司ヶ谷法明寺では10月13日に宗祖御会式を行う。それとは別に、毎年10月16日～18日に鬼子母神堂の大祭として鬼子母神御会式が行われる。団扇太鼓の独特なリズムを響かせ、枝垂れ桜様の万灯が何台も連なり練り歩く様は幻想的な秋の風物詩として親しまれている。
今回は、毎年御会式に登場する「纏(まとい）」と「万灯（まんどう）」もあわせてご披露いたします。
Oeshiki is a memorial service for the founder of Nichiren Buddhism. Every year on October 13, this service is held at Homyoji Temple in the Zoshigaya neighborhood. Additionally, Kishimojin Oeshiki is held as part of the Kishimojindo festival every year October 16 to 18. Handheld uchiwa-daiko drums beat a distinctive rhythm, and lanterns resembling branches of weeping cherry blossoms are hoisted high, as the procession weaves through the streets for a magical autumn tradition loved by local people. This year’s performance will feature the matoi and mando that are part of the annual Oeshiki festival.
