Genetic Testing for Prostate Cancer

This video was developed in partnership between the VA and the Prostate Cancer Foundation to explain genetic testing, with a focus on Veterans. This testing can help you find out if you have inherited a change in your genes that raises your risk for prostate cancer. It may also help you and your doctor choose a treatment for your prostate cancer.

One key goal of the PCF-VA Partnership is to increase access to cutting-edge prostate cancer care, including genetic testing and treatment that is targeted to a patient’s specific type of prostate cancer.
