TWC 81 Word of the Year 2024

Polarization, manifest, brain rot, brat and rawdog—some of the words that linguists and lexicographers say typified 2024. Our annual words of the year discussion features an international panel of lexicographical stars:

Mark Gwynn of the Australian National Dictionary Centre, which chose "Colesworth" as the word of the year for 2024.

Fiona McPherson, senior editor at Oxford English Dictionary (Oxford chose “brain rot” as its word of 2024).
