In this enlightening event, titled "Hindus Across Borders: Partition, Persecution, and the Pursuit of Citizenship Rights," Dr. Omendra Ratnu delivers a compelling talk on the often-ignored stories of Hindu persecution following India's partition. He highlights the struggles of Hindu minorities in Pakistan, offering powerful insights into their ongoing fight for citizenship and justice.
Before Dr. Ratnu’s keynote, two brilliant students from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) presented their groundbreaking research:
-Shri Rakesh Mishra from the Centre for Historical Studies, JNU, discussed the Moplah Pogrom: A Failed Case of Secularism, shedding light on the communal violence against Hindus during the 1921 Moplah Rebellion.
Shri Shivam Tiwari from the School of International Studies, JNU, presented segments from his published paper on the Condition of Minorities in South Asia, offering a nuanced analysis of the challenges faced by religious minorities across the region.
The event was expertly moderated by Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, a student from the School of International Studies, JNU, whose guidance ensured a smooth and engaging discussion.
This event, organized by the Valmiki Study Circle, is part of our ongoing effort to promote the Bhāratīyakaraṇa of popular discourse in JNU since 2019. Join us in this noble cause, and be part of this Deva-Kārya! 🙏🌸
