"Pierogi is my original song, that has a very long history. I wrote it 13 years ago around my first or second album which is 2012 or 2013. At first, I played with a "makeshift tapping" technique which was very inefficient and never sounded good. After some time I came back to this song and realized that I don't need to play it this weird way, I can just hybrid pick it.

The second problem was that I didn't know how to finish it. The second part of the loop was not satisfying for me. That's why I had to rewrite it, make it simpler - simpler is always better. I still couldn't figure out a way to end the song - that's why I did the fade out thing, like in the 70s. It fits the "Dire Straits" type lick perfectly.

The third problem (it's not easy making songs, lol) was that for a very long time I didn't know what's the topic of this song. What was it about? It was just a fancy guitar riff, but nothing more. After the Retro Poland thing I checked my "unreleased songs" folder and heard it after a long time. I remember people talking about Pierogi, and me joking about them when somebody asks me about my tone settings. That's when I realized that this song describes them perfectly. It's at the same time happy and funky while being a bit melancholic. So, here's how the title came into fruition. Also this was actually the first time I made Pierogi. All I can say is that it was not an easy task!

...And the last fun fact about this song is that the guitar solo here was written and recorded an hour before sending the tracks to the mixing engineer. I just wanted to export the tracks but it felt like a meaningless song without the ending solo. That's when I thought... "Well, the song has 13 years, what would happen if I turned it upside down at the last hour of the process?". I always felt that a spontaneous approach to writing solos can sometimes make them more unique and emotional.

PS: Watch till the end - my cat has a cameo there. He introduces everyone to his signature meow-yawn. It's always funny as hell.
