Let's see how to fix or repair the damage to the pond liner.
These days you might have seen, many of them are constructing big ponds, to reserve the water for, agriculture purposes using the, HDPE geomembrane pond liner.
Prevention of damage is always best, but what is the solution if it got damaged? No need to worry, there will be some solution.
The damage may happen from many reasons. Might be from animals, insects, or any hard particles.
We have constructed a 4 million liter capacity rainwater harvesting pond on Kambalimoole farms last year. We have already published the pond construction video, if you are not watched it yet please watch it.
We tried fish farming on the same pond. This was our first experience with fish farming. Without more information on the fish varieties, we added the Roopchand variety to our pond. As these varieties have teeth on the mouth, roopchand fish minutely damaged the edges of our pond liner. The lesson learned was, roopchand fish is only recommended for the pond without a pond liner.
As soon as we realized the damage to our pond liner, we contacted our pond liner supplier plus installer, Moleyar marketing LLP. As we mentioned in our previous video, they are very good in after-sales service as well. They have promised the repair of the damage and sent a technician to fix it. Before the technician's arrival, we need to drain the water from the pond, and keep the pond dry. Next mark the damages using the marker, which helps the technician to identify the damages easily.
If it is a big hole or damage, then need to take an extra cut piece of the pond liner, then weld it using the heat gun as shown here. If it is a small damage, then you can do heat weld directly without adding any extra pieces.
Now again pond is filled with water without any leakage.
