With Resurrection Sunday coming, I always wait till the last minute it seems to have a plan for music and this year is no exception. With this being Good Friday, this song my brother wrote that was featured on our "Risen" album (which I think we did better than this live version I did, but hey, I'm a little biased :-) came to my mind and just such a good reminder to me of a beautiful moment in the midst of the horror of the cross. Really it's the gospel message with the interaction of Jesus and the criminal on the cross. If you combine the gospel books narrative of this moment, first the criminal is going right along with the other one challenging/mocking Jesus; but there's a heart change to where he sees who he is and who Jesus is and then comes the lines used in this song. He found salvation in Christ right there on the cross; and you can find salvation in Christ in the same way - by seeing who you are and who Jesus is.
