Art at sixteen, seventeen describes the music and excitement of Central Avenue and what it was like to perform at the Club Alabam in L.A.'s Black nightclub district in the early '40s. He mentions Dexter Gordon, Charlie Mingus, Lee Young, Benny Carter. I think the saxophone you hear at in the scrap at the very end is Benny Carter's from that period.
