Introduction:
Clean energy is energy that produces no greenhouse gas emissions. They can come from renewable sources like wind, solar, and hydro energy or carbon free sources like nuclear energy.

Wind energy
One kind of renewable energy is wind energy, wind energy uses wind turbines to convert the kinetic energy from the wind into electrical energy that can be used to power things. The use of wind energy has been steadily increasing by 30% each year for the past 10 years. Wind energy is clean, cost effective, takes up little space and even creates new jobs but it does have its own issues. The main one is that wind is unreliable and can only create electricity when the wind is blowing at a certain speed, but it also displaces wildlife like birds and bats.

Solar energy
Another form of clean energy is solar energy. Solar energy is energy from the sun and relies on solar panels to collect sunlight and convert it into electricity. Solar energy is sustainable and is low maintenance, also it allows people to create their own energy. Solar power also has some issues such as its reliance on weather, cost, and it takes up space.

Hydro energy
Finally, hydropower is also a source of clean energy. Hydropower is one of the few forms of clean energy that can produce energy constantly. The problem is that hydropower plants are expensive to build and can only be built in areas that have a large body of water nearby.

Nuclear energy
Nuclear energy is not completely clean as it produces nuclear waste but it doesn’t have any carbon emissions. It uses sustained nuclear fission to generate heat and electricity and contributes to 20% of the US total energy produced. Good things about nuclear energy is that it lower overall carbon emissions, is reliable, and creates jobs but there are still some issues like how nuclear waste is hard to dispose of and that uranium is in limited supply.

Conclusion
Overall Clean energy may not be perfect but they are all good sources of energy that reduce carbon emissions and produce little to no waste.
