A 'Siberia' battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been recently formed by the Russian volunteers. The unit currently numbers 60 people. Most of them are representatives of Russian ethnic minorities. The soldiers of the 'Siberia' battalion underwent thorough testing to determine their commitment to Ukraine, and then signed a military contract and received army call signs to protect their identity. It is important to understand that military personnel with non-Ukrainian citizenship are not mercenaries.
