Dual Canister Filters & Wavemaker Setup for Zero Maintenance Aquarium Tank

• Wavemaker Position: The wavemaker is used to create a strong, consistent current within the aquarium water. Place it in same side of the filter inlets. Adjust the wavemaker angle so that it will not disturb the sand.
• Waste Direction: This current is directed across the length of the tank, effectively pushing fish waste and other debris from the substrate and other areas towards the side where the equipment is located.
• Filter Inlet Location: By having the filter inlet(s) on the same side, the debris pushed by the wavemaker is automatically drawn into the filter system, allowing for efficient mechanical filtration and removal of waste from the water column. This minimizes manual vacuuming of the substrate.
• Filter Outlet Position: If using a dual filter setup, or even a single one, the filter outlets can also be positioned on the same side, potentially in the middle, pointing in the same general direction as the wavemaker's flow. This reinforces the circulation pattern. 
• How it Works
The wavemaker's powerful current pushes water across the top of the tank. This flow hits the opposite side of the aquarium, circulates down the far wall, and returns along the bottom toward the filters intake side. This consistent, circular motion prevents dead spots where waste can settle and decompose, actively carrying all suspended detritus toward the filter inlets to be mechanically removed. 
This method ensures exceptional water clarity and quality without manual vacuuming.
