The Qinling Research Center of Giant Panda Breeding in northwest China's Shaanxi Province officially opened to the public last Friday, becoming the country's third giant panda research center.
Qinling is the region with the highest latitude where giant pandas live in China. There are obvious differences between Qinling giant pandas and Sichuan giant pandas in gene, morphology and evolution history, with those in Qinling as an independent subspecies of the giant panda.
