This is the account of hiking Leatherneck Ridge from the desert floor of Palm Springs through the San Jacinto Wilderness up to Long Valley. This class 2 scramble includes over 9,000 feet of vertical gain in roughly 10.5 miles across the rugged foothills of San Jacinto Peak.
