TESTING AN IGNITION COIL PACK IS EASY ~ STEP-BY-STEP

An ignition coil can fail, and when it does, your engine can stumble and lack power. One sure fire way to determine if your coil is faulty is to perform resistance testing of the primary and secondary circuits using a multi-meter. Today, I show you how to easily test the coil on a 2003 Ford F-150. These tests can also apply to many vehicles with coil packs just so long as you can find the specifications for your particular coil. If you can't find the specs for your coil, test it anyway and see that the readings across the primary terminals are similar to one another. Same with the secondary terminals that feed the spark plug wires. Any reading that stands out against the others indicates a coil that needs to be replaced.
