One Year With 'Abe! | Anniversary Review of my 1968 Lincoln Continental 462 Coupe

Owning a car for more than a few months is a pretty big deal for me, as I like to try out new things and get bored relatively quickly. In the case of 'Abe, my 1968 Lincoln Continental Coupe which I purchased on July 4th last year ('Murica!) it was definitely a new chapter in my driving journey: My first classic, first American, first left hand drive even. And with a 55 year old car which there are only two of on UK roads there was no guarantee that I would even be able to keep it on the road thanks to finding parts and the costs involved...

Fast forward to today and its easily my favourite car I've ever owned. That's not to say he hasn't been expensive - he certainly has. I've easily put over £6,000 into this car over the past year between fuel, upgrades, fixes and maintenance. And he's still not running perfectly. But there's just something about 'Abe which is undeniably magnetic.

So here's a quick recap of my thoughts after my first year of classic ownership, and here's looking forward to another - starting with fixing the fuel leak which he's just decided to spring yet again in celebration...sigh.
