Once you’ve got your supplies together, here’s what you’ll do:
Park on a level surface… and give your vehicle plenty of time to cool so there’s no risk of being burned by the exhaust.
Oxygen sensors are typically on the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe in front of or behind the catalytic converter.
Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector from the wiring harness.
The kit comes with two oxygen sensor sockets for appropriate fit, so select the appropriate socket.
Oxygen sensor sockets also have a slot to allow the wire to pass through, so slide the wire through the hole in the socket and place the socket over the hex of the sensor.
You can now use a 3/8 inch ratchet to break the oxygen sensor loose and remove it.
Thread in the new sensor… and use the oxygen sensor socket and a 3/8 inch torque wrench to tighten it to manufacturer specifications.
Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
