[0:00] Superwash vs NonSuperwash Yarn
[0:37] Winding the yarn into cakes
[3:01] Mixing dyes
1% stock solutions, measured out the exact same amount of dye for each of the yarn cakes
Deep Magenta - 4 mL
Fawn - 5 mL
pecan Brown - 5 mL
midnight blue - 5 mL
emerald green - 10 mL
Royal purple - 5 mL
[7:24] The dyebaths
Heat up in two separate pots 16 cups of water + 6 T white vinegar to each
Add the dye, heat up
[9:16] Adding the yarn cakes
Add 4 cups of water + 2 T of white vinegar to each pot so each cake can float vs sitting on the bottom of the pot
[14:41] After 30 minutes of heat
Add more acid and then heat for another 30 minutes
[16:24] Analysis
[18:02] Removing the yarn
leave it in the pots to cool for a little bit before removing it.
[21:11] Washing the yarn cakes
I'll wash the yarn off camera after the cakes are unwound
[22:43] The finished yarn cakes and conclusions
