Things to do at home - from the Peep Learning Together Programme.
Next time you go outside – try a bit of nature spotting!
You could make a comment about something you can hear, see, feel or even smell!
Give your child time to think about what you’ve said. They may not respond with words, but you might see them looking or listening.
Notice what your child is interest in and let their curiosity lead the way!
Here are some things you could chat about:
The weather: Oh look... can you see those dark clouds? I think it's going to rain!
Trees, plants and flowers: What a pretty flower - I can see 5 pink petals.
Seasons: Oh look, the leaves on the tree are turning orange.
Insects: That's a big web - I wonder where the spider is...
Animals: I can hear a bird squawking - Let's see if we can see it!
Just a few minutes nature spotting will really help your child become aware of the world around them.
