In 2025, North Shields celebrated 800 years of history. Culminating in a 'grande finale parade' watched by 1000s in December 2025, the year has brought together its community in ways that have surpassed all expectations.
We documented some of the projects that have marked and celebrated the rich cultural heritage and history of North Shields; its vibrant present, and its development and regeneration.
This showreel highlights some of the projects, and gives a flavour of the energy and community spirit in this great, creative town at the mouth of the River Tyne, a 20 minute stroll from Tynemouth and 7 linear miles from the city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
