Juchipila Zacatecas, México 4K Walking Tour

The municipality of Juchipila (from the Nahuatl: Xochipillan ‘Xochitl’, flower; ‘pill’, noble, beautiful young man; a,an place. Hence, Juchipila, ‘place of noble or beautiful flowers’) is one of the 58 municipalities in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. Its capital is the town of Juchipila.

The municipality is located in southern Zacatecas, nestled in the canyon that bears its name (Juchipila), between the Sierra de Morones and the Sierra de Nochistlán. With an altitude of 1,245 meters above sea level, it borders the municipality of Apozol to the north, Moyahua to the south, Nochistlán to the east, and Teúl de González Ortega and Santa María de la Paz to the west. The municipal seat of the same name is Juchipila.
