Someday Soon - Written by Ian Tyson - Performed by The Unsung Heroes

The version of this song that initially caught my attention was released by Judy Collins way back in 1968. It wasn't until a couple years later that I finally heard Ian and Sylvia do the original version (from 1963) - which then made me a big fan of that Canadian folk duo, along with all of the great material they wrote and produced. So this was an important find to me and led to me learning about a lot of different artists and a whole bunch of new material.

It is also the song and production that really brought my attention to the beauty of the pedal steel. After years of hearing pedal steel played much differently on most old country records, this just had a different and amazing sound and feel. It's also why, after doing this song for well over 50 years I still love singing this song and our great steel player, Bruce Derr, never misses on this one.

This is also one of the first songs (after which there will be many more to follow) that we have produced at our new music video production facility in York, Maine. It was filmed and recorded at Stone House Studio in the beautiful Blind Mule Barn (in honor of next door neighbor, Jack - a friendly old blind mule). This amazing looking and sounding A/V facility was personally constructed by our awesome drummer and singer, Rob Kneeland and Rob and I have been installing and learning all of the related tech that go into the making of beautiful looking and sounding music video.

Rounding out the band are Todd (the King of all Todds) Robertson on upright bass and myself on guitar and vocals.
