Joey “JoJo” Merlino Jr. just got out after doing eight long years in Stateville. The name alone carries weight — son of Philly’s own Joey Merlino, a name that once had half the East Coast either paying tribute or ducking bullets. But Joey Jr. isn’t looking to live in his father’s shadow. He’s looking to build his own legacy — and this time, it’s in Chicago.



Back in 2017, JoJo came to the Windy City chasing fast money and respect. Word on the street was a downtown bank was washing cash for a rival outfit. He put together a crew, a clean plan, and a clean getaway — at least, that’s what he thought. The heist went sideways in minutes — shots fired, sirens screaming, and one rat in the mix. The rest of the crew either vanished or flipped. JoJo took the fall like a man, kept his mouth shut, and did his time.



Eight years changes a man. In prison, JoJo learned more about power than he ever did on the streets. He watched, listened, and made friends in low and high places — Italians, Irish, even a few Chicago street crews who respected how he carried himself. Now that he’s out, he’s walking the same streets that once chewed him up, but this time with a plan.



He’s not just back to make money — he’s back to take over. The clubs, the rackets, the corners — all of it. Chicago’s been without a real boss for too long, and JoJo’s ready to change that. His father might have ruled Philly with an iron hand, but JoJo plans to rule Chicago with brains and blood. He talks smooth, dresses sharp, and never moves without purpose. The streets whisper that he’s just another washed-up mob kid chasing ghosts, but the smart ones know better — when Joey Jr. steps back into town, business picks up, and bodies start dropping.



He did his time, he kept quiet, and now he’s coming for everything the city owes him. Chicago’s about to learn the name Merlino — all over again.
