Charles Dickens wrote "The Life of Our Lord" between 1846 and 1849, during the same period he was completing David Copperfield. The manuscript was not published during Dickens's lifetime; instead, it was kept as a family secret and passed down through his relatives. It was first published 85+ years later in 1934, (64 years after Dickens's death). It became one of the year's best-selling non-fiction books. This was after his last surviving child, Sir Henry Fielding Dickens, died, and the family decided it is a story the public should know. Now, finally it is brought to life - 10 years in the making and another 90+ years later, through the wonderful animation film of THE KING OF KINGS (2025)
