I'm a guy aged 28yrs, married and need your help. I married last year in September and we have scheduled our wedding for next month, April! We have paid the service providers and we are waiting for the date.
Unfortunately, my wife's father was involved in a terrible accident in December. He broke his leg and his back. So he was put in a wheelchair and was doing physiotherapy. He has grown old and it might take him a long time to recover. So last week my wife told me that her parents were asking if we could move our date to July. This will give Baba time to fully recover so that he can celebrate the wedding with us. My father-in-law is not willing to walk my wife down the aisle in a wheelchair nor is he willing to allow someone else to do it. Although I understand where he is coming from.
If we move our dates, we incur more expenses. I brought this to my wife's attention, but my in-laws were not having it, because they promised a cow to be eaten and a bus to carry people on the day. I felt there was an entitlement. The in-laws are saying, "inga takakurerutsira wani nekubatsira”. It got way more complicated because my mother interfered and exchanged words with my wife’s mother. Already there's a lot of tension around this wedding.
