Carmelo Anthony had an elite midrange game. He had so many shots and moves in his midrange arsenal that made him almost impossible to guard like the one and two dribble pull-up, hesitation pull-up, turnaround fadeaway, step-back fadeaway, and shooting after jab stepping.
In this workout, you'll take the exact shots Melo liked to take when operating in the midrange including some of his favorite setup moves too. This is a 95-make shooting workout that you can do on your own.
Here's the workout:
1) Off the jab step (10 makes)
in the mid-post area, spin the ball to yourself, face up, jab step, and shoot
grab your rebound and pick another spot
make 10 shots off the jab anywhere in the mid-post
2) 1 Dribble Pull-ups (25 makes)
start at the 3 point line, make a move and take 1 dribble towards the basket before pulling up
make 5 shots at each of the 5 spots (both corners, both wings, up top)

pump fake
jab step
rip through
negative step
3) 2 Dribble Pull-ups (15 makes)
start behind the 3 point line, make a move and take 2 dribbles towards the basket before pulling up
make 5 shots at each wing and up top

4) Hesitation Pull-Ups (25 makes)
make a dribble move, hesitate, and then pull-up
make 5 shots at each of the 5 spots (both corners, both wings, up top)

crossover + hesitation
through the legs + hesitation
behind the back cross + hesitation
5) Step-back Fadeaways (10 makes)
in the mid-post, take a few back-down dribbles before stepping back and fading away
grab your rebound and pick another spot
make 10 shots anywhere in the mid-post
6) Turnaround Fadeaways (10 makes)
in the mid-post, take a few back-down dribbles before turning around and fading away
grab your rebound and pick another spot
make 10 shots anywhere in the mid-post
add in a dream shake (faking one direction first) or a turnaround immediately off the catch
= 95 makes
