In this video, I explain to a Kenyan couple why Paje is the best place for Airbnb investing. It was discovered some 8 years ago that you can Kite surf for 9 months (longest than all kite surfing spots). Most hotel investors/owners did not catch the wave early and were late to buy beach plots. All island hotel owners know that if your hotel is not on the beach or 2nd line from beach then no business will come. Zanzibar has 5 main areas where tourists love to go:
1. Stone Town-west coast
Mji Mkongwe, or Stone Town: The Old Town on Zanzibar Stone Town in Zanzibar is popular for its unique UNESCO World Heritage architecture, which blends Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influences. It's also famous for its rich history as a central hub for the East African slave trade and the spice trade, a legacy evident in its historical buildings and museums. Visitors enjoy the maze-like streets, vibrant local markets, carved wooden doors, and local cuisine, especially at the evening market in Forodhani Gardens. Also there is a Freddie Mercury Museum and Tanzanite Museum on shangani street. Where the Airport and Zanzibar ferry are located. Also where the old train station was, incase the government wants to revive it.
2. Nungwi-north coast
Nungwi is popular for its pristine white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, and moderate tides, which allow for year-round swimming and water sports like diving, snorkeling, and kitesurfing. It also offers a vibrant nightlife, with beachfront parties and bars (popular party being , a rich local culture, boat-building traditions, and marine conservation efforts, such as swimming with turtles at the Baraka Natural Aquarium.
3. Paje-east coast
Popular for Kite surfing, spice farm tour, Jozani chwaka forest, restaurant hoping and beach walk (crystal clear waters but busy). It is also close to Michamvi where The Rock Restaurant and Jambiani with beaches that have a slower vibe
4. Kizimkazi/Makunduchi-south coast
Makunduchi is known for the Mwaka Kogwa festival (mock fights and Shirazi New Year traditions), traditional Swahili culture, quiet beaches perfect for reflection, and water sports like diving and snorkeling. Polish people love going there, most hotel owners are polish
Kizimkazi is famous for dolphin watching tours, the oldest mosque in East Africa, Swimming with sea turtles at nearby Salaam Cave. Also for the Kizimkazi Festival happening yearly that fuse dance/music, food, folkore and swahili magic, fashion
5. Other smaller islands like Pemba, Bawe. Popular for serene untouched beaches, aquatic wildlife and 7 star hotels/villas
