What a whirlwind of a wedding week Carlin and Nick had leading up to their day! North Carolina had just shutdown for COVID-19, and Duke waffled all week on if they would allow Carlin and Nick to have their ceremony at all! Duke finally settled on allowing only a handful of immediate family to attend. Carlin and Nick were crushed, but fortunately the rest of the guests were able to watch a live stream of the ceremony from the reception venue - Hope Valley Country Club.


Their day started out with prep at Washington Duke Inn. There were gifts for friends and family, as well as some fun gifts exchanged between Carlin and Nick (Disney themed of course!) Once Carlin was ready, she went down to share a first look with her father who helped ease her nerves about how hectic things had been. At the Duke Chapel, Nick anxiously awaited as Carlin was driven to the front steps for their first look. They were overjoyed to see one another, and so excited to have the group together so they could begin celebrating. The ceremony in the chapel was beautiful but also surreal with so few guests! Carlin and Nick wrote heartfelt vows to one another, and of course the Disney theme ran strong - Nick even quoted Olaf⛄! The reception at Hope Valley Country Club was one big party! Carlin and Nick CRUSHED their coordinated first dance (to an assortment of Disney songs😍🎵) There were incredible toasts by friends and family, and Carlin's sister even performed an entire song for them to the tune of "Ice Ice Baby". It is clear that Carlin and Nick are cherished immensely by those around them! It was an epic night, and as 1/2 best man Grayson said, "I know that Disney World got canceled, but I kind of feel like I'm in the happiest place on earth tonight!"
