Scouting Bobcats During Difficult Conditions

When there is no fresh snow and the conditions are terrible your time can still be spent wisely. In this video there is little snow an the ground and what is there is too crusty from the hounds to run on. Crusty snow is too dangerous on their feet and never worth the risk. So the best thing you can do with your time is SCOUT.

Scout and set yourself up for success for the next time good snow conditions present themselves. Looks for tracks and signs for bobcat activity is a good place to start. The tracks may be old, but many times these cats will eventually circle back around. Take note of where you find these tracks when you're out scouting and when the conditions are right you will have an excellent place to start.
