Officiating Blues

College basketball is my passion and seeing it turned into the NBA due to terrible officiating is heartbreaking. Who is at fault--besides the incompetent refs themselves? Of course the NCAA is at fault since they hire these bufoons and oversee their shoddy work. They also muzzle the coaches and players with the threat of suspensions and fines (for the coaches).

What is most troubling is that the commentators on this great sport are constantly making excuses for the officials and not criticizing them in the same way they would a player or coach. Why is it that in this clip the commentators continually suck up to the officials. They are enabling this poor performance and threatening the game that I love.
