How much description is too much description? It can be hard to find the right balance between being clear in your descriptions, and not laying it on too thick. But in this video, I share my tips and rules of thumb for writing effective description.

This is how I approach writing description and I write YA thrillers. How much description you want to include depends heavily on your genre. Epic fantasy readers will appreciate more lengthy description than thriller readers, so think about that as you're writing too.
