Widely considered the most important invention between 1000-2000 AD, Johann Gutenberg’s printing press quite literally revolutionized the world.

👀 But why would a printing press be so important???

Well, between 1400-1450 roughly 20,000-50,000 books were produced across all of Europe.

Gutenberg finished his press c1450.

Then from 1450-1500 there were (wait for it…) over 8 MILLION books produced. Some estimates even suggest up to 20 million copies depending whether you count pamphlets and smaller works. 🤯

Thanks to this hot new toy on the market, information was able to spread like wildfire. Begetting massive historical events like the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the Scientific Revolution.
