Thailand's INSANE Water Festival (2025 Songkran)

This Songkran 2025 is very special to me and holds a significant place in my heart. This is my second Songkran celebration in the beautiful country of Thailand and specifically in the vibrant city of Chiang Mai. Songkran festival is known to be one of the favorite festivals for Thai people, and it marks the beginning of the new year in Thailand, which is a time for joy, celebration, and renewal. On this special day, people dress up in colorful outfits, often wearing flowery t-shirts that reflect the festive spirit, and they joyfully throw water on each other in a fun and playful manner. This playful water splashing is not just a tradition; it represents the washing away of sins and bad luck. It's the biggest water festival on earth, attracting both locals and tourists alike who want to partake in the fun. Songkran begins on 12 April and continues until 16th in Chiang Mai, where the celebrations are held in the most traditional local style, featuring various cultural activities, vibrant parades, and some delicious treats from local vendors that everyone looks forward to.
