Mt Hector is an 11'er of the Canadian Rockies, meaning that its summit is over 11,000ft. This was the second 11'er ever summited in the rockies and is named after one of the original explorers of the area. The ski route we completed in this video is one of the most popular ski mountaineering objectives of its kind in the Rockies thanks to its mellow and straight forward ascent and boasting nearly 1600m's of vertical decent on skis right back to your car. What takes a competent party 4-6hrs to summit takes maybe 1hr to descend
