The Chak Angre Krom - Prek Pra Bridge, spanning the Bassac River, is under construction as a twin concrete bridge with a total length of 1,650 meters. The bridge itself measures 845.70 meters in length, with a road width of 27 meters, while its approach roads extend 804.30 meters, maintaining the same width. The project is expected to be completed within 42 months.
Strategically located, the bridge begins on the western bank of the Bassac River, in Chak Angre Krom, Meanchey District, and extends to the eastern bank, in Prek Pra, Chbar Ampov District, within Phnom Penh’s metropolitan area.
Once completed, the bridge will play a vital role in alleviating traffic congestion from the Preah Monivong Bridge, which currently serves as a major crossing to National Road No. 1 in Chbar Ampov District. Additionally, it will enhance economic and social connectivity between southern Phnom Penh, Techo Takhmao International Airport, and neighboring regions.
The project is set to significantly improve transportation efficiency and logistics operations, contributing to Phnom Penh’s long-term infrastructure development.
